This is the final approved concept sketch for the Puma mech from one of Microsoft's MechWarrior: Mercenaries mech packs.

Always thought this was a boring mech to look at and play. Reminds me of a turtle.

I beg to differ - this is my third favorite light mech, below the Uller and Wolfhound. PCPs rock!

I dunno, I've always like the Puma, more so than any other of those bloody Clan 'Mechs and more than any Inner Sphere Omni, and especially your rendition of it - I don't think the design looks boring at all; more like it's realistic and practical as opposed to flashy or intimidating like some other 'Mechs do.

It's really small and compact.

I remember, in gameplay, that it was much easier to evade both direct fire and indirect fire when piloting a Puma.
So, uh, I'd like to thank you for making this.

I'm no expert on the Puma, but it was the base for the initial design of the Cougar, so I'm not complaining!

thanks. I didn't design the Puma though... just made this particular incarnation of it. I stuck pretty faithfully to the original Battletech design.

Started playing MechWarrior 3 again. I now dislike the Puma just a little, because it is difficult to snipe off at long range, especially when - as is its habit - it starts moving fast. The only reason I was sniping them to begin with was because, on Op. 3, Mission 6, there were two of them in a small area, and I wanted my Mechs intact to deal with the Annihilators I'd be facing later.

Still a fun Mech, though. Just a difficult target at long range, because it's so squat.
